Connecting your Facebook & Instagram

This is a one-time setup so Mila can post to both your Facebook Page and your Instagram. It takes about 10 minutes, and most of it happens inside Facebook and Instagram. Once it’s done, Mila handles everything.

Before you start, have these ready:

  • A Facebook Pagefor your practice — not your personal profile.
  • An Instagram professional (Business) account — personal accounts can’t be connected.
  • Admin access to the Facebook Page (the most common reason setup fails).

Part 1Make your Instagram a Business account

On the Instagram app: go to your profile → menu (☰) → Settings and activity Account type and tools Switch to professional account, then choose Businessand pick a category that fits your practice. It’s free and takes about a minute. (Already a Business or Creator account? Skip to Part 2.)

Part 2Link your Instagram to your Facebook Page

On a computer, go to your practice’s Facebook Page → Settings Linked accounts (shown as Instagram on some Pages) → Connect account, and sign in with your Instagram professional account. If Facebook asks you to confirm that Page managers can also manage your Instagram, complete that confirmation. Then reopen Linked accounts and make sure Instagram shows Connectedwith no “Review connection” warning.

Important: linking in the Accounts Center, from Instagram’s “share to Facebook” setting, or in Meta Business Suite alone is not enough— those only enable cross-posting. You must connect from your Facebook Page settings as described here. Facebook allows only one Instagram account per Page.

Part 3Connect everything to Mila

Sign up or sign in to Mila and choose Continue with Facebook. In the popup, log in with the Facebook account that admins your Page, then:
  • Select your practice’s Pagewhen Facebook asks which Pages to use — if it isn’t checked, Mila can’t post to it.
  • Leave every permission turned on. Turning any off can quietly break scheduling to Facebook or Instagram later.

Mila automatically detects the Instagram account attached to your Page — there’s no separate Instagram login.

Pre-flight checklist

  • A Facebook Page for your practice (not a personal profile)
  • Instagram set to Business (or Creator)
  • Instagram linked to your Facebook Page (shows Connected)
  • You’re an admin of the Facebook Page
  • In the popup, you selected your Page and left all permissions on

Frequently asked questions

The basics

What is Mila?
Mila is a done-for-you social media marketing service for aesthetic practices. She learns your practice’s voice, plans a content strategy, creates the posts and reels, schedules and publishes them to Instagram and Facebook, and adjusts based on what performs. You review and approve — Mila does the work.
How much do I have to do?
Very little. Mila prepares content ahead of time and notifies you when something’s ready. You glance, approve occasionally, and answer the odd question or photo request. Everything else — planning, writing, designing, scheduling, publishing — is handled for you.
How do I talk to Mila?
Mila is available in the app on every page. Just type what you want in plain language — “make three posts about Botox,” “move Friday’s post to Monday,” “say clients instead of patients from now on.” She understands what you’re looking at and takes the action for you.

Accounts & getting set up

How do I connect my Instagram and Facebook accounts?
You connect Facebook when you sign up, and your Instagram professional account comes along with it — there’s no separate Instagram login. There are a few one-time steps on the Facebook/Instagram side first; see Connecting Facebook & Instagram above for the full walkthrough. You can check your connection status anytime in Settings → Integrations.
My Instagram didn’t connect — only Facebook did.
This is the most common setup issue. It almost always means your Instagram is a personal (not professional) account, or it’s linked in the Accounts Center or Meta Business Suite but not connected from your Facebook Page → Settings → Linked accounts (only the Page-level connection lets Mila publish). Follow Part 1 and Part 2 above, confirm the connection shows Connectedwith no “Review connection” warning, then reconnect in Mila.
I don’t see my Page in the Facebook popup.
You’re likely signed into a personal Facebook account that isn’t an admin of the Page. Sign in as the Page admin, or have that person complete the connection. If your Page isn’t checked in the popup, Mila can’t see it or post to it — make sure it’s selected before continuing.
Can I add my team?
Yes. Invite providers and staff from the Team page; they accept with a link. Team members can help manage content, and they can also appear in your posts (provider spotlights, meet-the-team, and so on). If someone signs up against a practice that already exists, the practice owner approves their access.

Content, posts & scheduling

How do I review and approve content?
Mila prepares posts ahead of time and notifies you when something’s ready. Review upcoming content on your Calendar and Posts pages, approve with a tap, or ask Mila to change anything in chat. You can also approve several at once.
How much control do I have over what gets published?
As much as you want. In Settings → Automations you choose how hands-off to be: have Mila create, schedule, and publish automatically; have her create and schedule but wait for your approval before publishing (the default); or schedule and publish everything yourself. You can also give Mila standing rules like “always ask me before publishing team posts.”
How do I change my brand voice or what Mila posts about?
Just tell Mila in chat — she’s built for exactly this (“be more playful,” “focus on injectables this month,” “never mention pricing”). She remembers it going forward. You can also review your brand profile on the Brand page.
How far ahead is my content planned?
Roughly a month at a time. Mila builds a themed monthly plan — a theme, the audiences to reach, the services to feature, and a full lineup of posts spaced across the month. She drafts the plan for you to review first; once you approve it, she builds all the posts in the background.
A caption changed on its own — is that a bug?
No. Mila reviews performance over time and occasionally refines upcoming (not yet published) posts to do better. If a change isn’t to your taste, just tell her in chat and she’ll set it back.
Can I pause posting? (vacation, closure)
Yes. Tell Mila in chat or email us, and posting pauses until you’re ready to resume.

Reels & video

How do reels work?
Mila writes a short “shoot script” — a title, a hook, and a simple shot list with directions and timing. Your office films it on a phone and uploads the clips, and Mila edits them into a finished, captioned reel ready to publish. You don’t edit anything yourself.
What video should I upload?
Film vertically (hold the phone upright, 9:16) — horizontal clips are rejected. Keep each clip short (about a minute or less) and upload one clip per shot in the brief. Mila handles captions and timing automatically.
Why was my video rejected?
Usually one of three reasons: the video is horizontal instead of vertical, it’s too long, or the file is too large. Re-film vertically and keep clips short. If it still won’t upload, email us.
Do I need to add music or captions?
No. Mila adds captions automatically, and music is selected when the reel publishes so it uses a properly licensed track. She’ll suggest a vibe that fits the video.
A reel says “Ready to film” and nothing’s happening.
That means the brief is waiting on footage from your office. Open the reel, film the shots, and upload the clips — Mila takes it from there. We’ll send a reminder if it sits too long.

Photos & media

Why does Mila keep asking for photos?
Real photos of your practice, team, and results make for far better posts. When Mila needs a specific kind of photo for planned content, she’ll ask. Your Mediapage shows what she has and what’s missing.
How do I add photos?
Upload them on the Media page, or use Capture nowto snap them right in the app with your phone camera. Every photo you add gets an enhanced version proposed for your approval — nothing is changed without you saying yes.
Does Mila use AI to make up photos?
Only for certain non-clinical image types, and only with your permission (you control this in Settings). Photos of your team and your before-and-after results are alwaysreal photos you provide — never AI-generated.
My before-and-after post won’t publish.
Before-and-after content goes through an extra safety check for consent and appropriateness, which can hold a post back. Make sure you have patient consent on file; if it stays stuck, email us and we’ll sort it out.

Billing & your account

How does billing work? How do I cancel?
Manage everything under Settings → Billing, which opens your secure billing portal — update your payment method or cancel anytime, no phone call required. Current pricing is on our homepage. If you’re on the iPhone app, manage billing from the website.
Does cancelling delete my data?
No. If your subscription lapses or you cancel, your account becomes read-only— new content creation pauses, but you keep access to everything already there, and you can resubscribe anytime. Deleting your account is a separate, permanent step (see Deleting your account and data).
Is my data secure?
Your account is protected by your Facebook login, and we only access the social accounts you explicitly connect. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Notifications

I’m not getting notifications.
Two places to check: your preferences in Settings → Automations, and (on iPhone) your device’s Settings → Notifications → Mila to make sure notifications are allowed. Still nothing? Email us.
Can I get fewer notifications?
Yes. In Settings → Automationsyou can turn any notification on or off per channel (email, text, push). We keep the important “needs your attention” alerts on by default and the routine ones quieter.

Troubleshooting

The app shows an offline screen.

The Mila app needs an internet connection. Check your connection and reopen the app — it reconnects automatically.

A scheduled post didn’t publish.

Check the post’s status on your Posts page and your connection status in Settings → Integrations. If both look fine, email us with the post date and we’ll investigate.

My Facebook or Instagram connection stopped working.

Social platforms occasionally expire connections. Check Settings → Integrations; if a reconnect doesn’t resolve it, email us — we’ll fix it quickly.

My engagement numbers look out of date.

Likes, comments, and reach sync on a regular schedule and can lag a little behind Instagram and Facebook. They only appear once a post is published — a brand-new post shows a “data coming” placeholder rather than a zero.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your Mila account and all associated data yourself, at any time. Open the Mila app and go to Settings → Account → Delete account, type DELETEto confirm, and your account is deleted immediately; residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within 30 days. This permanently removes your profile, your connected Facebook and Instagram authorization, all content Mila created for you, your uploaded photos and media, and your analytics history. Any active subscription is cancelled immediately (billing records are retained by our payment processor as required for accounting). If you own a practice with other team members, deleting your account removes the practice for everyone — the app will warn you before you confirm. If you have questions, email hello@aestheticaimarketing.com.
